Helping families feel informed, not left guessing.

Young people do best when school and home are working together. Here's what you can expect from us, and how we keep you involved at every step.

Staying in touch

You'll hear from us regularly. Parents and carers receive termly progress reports, review meetings, an end-of-placement review and awards presentation. If something changes for your child, we'll tell you directly rather than waiting for the end of term.

Most places start with a referral from your child's school, the local authority or another agency. Before your child starts, we meet with them, with you, and with someone from their school, so everyone agrees on a plan to support the young person's learning.

Behaviour and bullying

Every student signs a simple code of conduct when they join. Some behaviour, such as violence or bullying, is never accepted. Other behaviour, such as swearing, we will always address, though not always with a sanction. That keeps our expectations clear and fair.

If your child is being bullied, they can talk to any member of staff at any time, or use the Student Voice Box. We respond quickly and sensitively.

Attendance and SEND

Good attendance makes a big difference. If your child can't come in, please call their school at the start of the day.

Small groups and high staff-to-student ratios let us shape learning and support around every student, including those with special educational needs and disabilities or social, emotional and mental health needs.

Students can also join our breakfast club.

Staying safe online

A few habits we talk about with students, and that are worth talking about at home too:

  • Keep personal information, like where you live or go to school, off the internet
  • Tell an adult you trust if something online worries you
  • Ask yourself why someone you don't know wants to follow or friend you
  • Keep privacy settings as high as they will go
  • Stop and think before you share or post a photo

How we work with families

From the first conversation to planning what comes next.

  1. First contact

We take time to understand your child's needs before they start.

  2. Settling in

Steady routines help your child build trust in the first few weeks.

  3. Keeping in touch

Regular updates mean you always know how things are going.

  4. Next steps

We plan your child's next stage together, as a team.

Got a question?

We're happy to talk through anything, from asking about a place to a worry about your child's day.
